Concrete Sealing Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan & Gold Coast

It is absolutely necessary to seal concrete due to its density. Concrete sealing will protect against staining and make it easier to clean. If you are to try sealing concrete yourself you must choose very carefully which sealer to use and how to apply it. Stripping failed sealers is very difficult and costly. Concrete needs to be sealed to prevent permanent staining from oil and other elements. From the time it is poured, concrete can be exposed to efflorescence, salt attack, spills, weather, animals, children and tradesmen, so it is best to seal it sooner rather than later. Sealing concrete floors will work by making what was once a porous surface that would attract and draw in oils, waters, moulds etc, to now a treated surface that will repeal these penetrates. In return your job of hosing or sweeping now be a lot more effective and easier. All concrete surfaces are acid sensitive. For example: Red wines, fruit juices, vinegars, cokes and most cleaning products can etch into your surface giving a patchy, dull look. This can only be corrected by regrinding or polishing. The right sealers will protect from acids etching. Choosing the right concrete sealing products for concrete floor sealing is critical.

Patterned or Colour Stencilled Concrete

Patterned or Stencil coloured concretes look awesome when they are new. Unprotected they can immediately begin to fade due to UV damage and quickly discolour when penetrated by foreign matter. Moisture entering below the surface of concrete at night will also quickly deteriorate and shorten concretes life. Waterworx Pressure Cleaning & concrete sealing recommends sealing concrete for protection from the above things and makings your areas much easier and manageable to clean.

Penetrating Concrete Sealers

Penetrating sealers work by sinking into the substrate and protect it from within. They deposit either a natural or synthetic resin into the pore of the concrete. After the sealer is applied, the water or solvent evaporates and leaves the resin below the surface. It then hardens and bonds with the concrete to form an invisible protecting barrier that prevents the surface from absorbing unwanted matter. The major benefit of Penetrating sealers is that they let concrete breathe and will never peal or scratch. Excellent for concrete sealing.
  • Will not change the appearance of your concrete,
  • Let the tile breath.
  • Can recoat on top without having to strip old sealer.
  • Won’t wear or scratch,
  • Lasts years longer,
  • Very quick drying,

Film Forming or Topical Concrete Sealers

Topical sealers form a film on the top of the substrate and provide a coating that protects it from damage. The purpose of the sealer is to reduce the natural absorbency of the concrete. Sealers keep unwanted contaminants on the surface surface of the concrete and can be wiped away. Gloss and colours can be added to these sealers along with hardeners and non slip grits if needed. Garage, office and factory concrete floors really benefit from colour coated sealing.
  • They can provide a shiny, glossy wet look to the stone.
  • Will protect stone from wear.
  • Very easy to clean.
  • Excellent against acid attack.

Non Slip Concrete Sealer Coating Systems
